COLLABORATING ON ONTARIO’S NEW ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS
Ottawa Integrated Local Labour Market Planning (OILLMP) and many local boards across Ontario have partnered with Workforce Planning Hamilton and the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario, Ministry of Community and Social Services to help spread the word on the new AODA Customer Service Standard that came into effect for private sector employers on January 1, 2012.
The documents provided here have been designed to simplify the language of the legislation to tell employers in straightforward terms what they need to do to comply.
The package includes information for employers, and for service providers to share with employers:
- Toolkit – what businesses need to do to comply (can be printed and distributed or posted on your website)
- FAQs – help in responding to questions
- 7 tips – things we’ve learned raising awareness on the standards
